Eek! I can't believe I have only just got around to posting about this. November was the busiest month EVER for Sweet As Can Be!
Mid October, I saw a tweet from ASOS Marketplace reminding all of their followers that the Graduate ASOS Marketplace competition was still open! After hearing what an amazing experience it was from Emma Warren (a previous winner!) I applied without a second thought!
10 brands/small businesses would win the chance to sell at the Clothes Show Live (December 5th-9th), free of charge, within the Graduate ASOS Marketplace section!
Within a week and a half I was notified that I had been shortlisted to send a few samples of the Sweet As Can Be Collection! After posting, a nervous wait of what felt like eternity ensued! (..it wasn't really that long :L) On the 30th October an email popped up in my inbox to declare that I had been selected! Amazing!
November was then a flurry of emails, quotations, careful organisation, stock sourcing and late night sewing. I dared to work on a new collection of bags simultaneously as I really wanted to be able to sell them at the show!
December 5th soon dawned... (speaking of dawn it was an absolutely beautiful morning!) the next 5 days flew by. It was such a surreal experience, plus very tiring (I'm no stranger to the hard work of retail!). I received some really lovely feedback from customers; I met a watercolour artist who said the Purple Blossom Scarf reminded her of her paintings! ^_^ How cute!
The other graduates collections were incredible and so unique, I felt pretty darn lucky to be among them! I feel like I've just generally gained so much from this! It helped launch Sweet As Can Be into the big wide world!
